Each year Cylburn Arboretum Friends hosts three large public events, a plant sale in the spring, a family Halloween weekend, and a holiday greens sale. In addition to these events we offer a Master Naturalist program in the fall. Below are brief descriptions of these events. Click on titles, images, or links to learn more about each one.
Market Day & Party on the Porch
Market Day traditionally draws more than 3,000 visitors to the Arboretum on Mother’s Day weekend all eager to shop for plants and crafts from our wide variety of vendors. Vendors from across the region will join in the fun selling a wide variety of plants. Gifts including pottery, jewelry, art and more will also be featured. Food and beverages will be on sale from participating food trucks on both days. Wagon
rentals will be available for shopping ease. Last but not least, lots of children’s activities will be on-site to entice families.

ArBOOretum
Cylburn Arboretum Friends is thrilled to present its annual “ArBOOretum,” a family-friendly event that celebrates the spirit of season in the heart of our beautiful public garden. This event brings together the community for guided moonlit nature walks, spooky trails, and memorable moments in front of the Cylburn mansion decorated in Halloween splendor. This a candy free Halloween event to prevent wrappers from littering our grounds.

Holiday Greens Sale
Many years ago, Cylburn Arboretum Friends wanted to have an event that celebrated the natural world but also got us all into the holiday spirit. Added bonus: an opportunity to do a fundraiser with our city partners who grow poinsettias.
Every year our volunteers collect branches, pinecones, berries, dried flowers, grasses and more by foraging in different locations. Then we curate a mix of 3-5 different types of greens on our wreath frames and add the bits and pieces of color and bling. Or we bundle together a swag of delicious smelling boughs with a handmade bow.
