Redbuds (Cercis canadensis) are in bloom at Cylbur

Redbuds (Cercis canadensis) are in bloom at Cylburn Arboretum, and it is a beautiful time to explore Moudry Woods. This patch of woods, located between the Mansion, the Nature Education Center, and the Production Greenhouses, is home to most of the eight different cultivars of redbud trees that you can find at Cylburn.

As you wander the paths, you can compare the blooms of the ‘Tennessee Pink’ redbud with the vibrant flowers of the ‘Appalachian Red’ redbud. As an arboretum, our trees are labeled, making it easy to learn about different species and cultivars as you explore.

One of our favorite ways to enter Moudry Woods is just behind the Mansion, through the Meditation Circle Garden. If you have not wandered through this area before, now is the perfect time. Come on out and choose your favorite redbud!
