Pop-Up Display: Mosses
February 22 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Join Master Naturalist, Pat Jonas, in the Nature Education Center, to learn about mosses!
Mosses are all around us. They grow on trees, rocks, on sidewalks and sometimes on our roofs. But did you know that mosses are one of the first land plants and that they helped to create the oxygen in our atmosphere? Or that they were once used to help heal soldiers’ wounds? We will look at some of these plants, where you can find them and learn more of the ways that mosses are “an unsung hero” for our environment.
