What is a typical schedule at Cylburn Nature Camp?
Campers begin their day with a hike on our beautiful grounds before the day heats up! Afterward, they engage with nature lessons, crafts, outdoor exploration, and games throughout the day. We spend much of our day outside, and schedules vary by theme and age. Our emphasis is on learning, safety, and fun!
What health and safety protocols will be in place this summer?
Health and safety are our top priority. While we are not sure what regulations will be in place this summer, we will abide by all directives put forth by the Maryland Department of Health Youth Camps. This could include required masking and daily health screenings–we will provide families with an update before the beginning of each camp session with the most current plans and policies.
How many campers are in each group?
Each camp “class” contains a maximum of 18 children with at least three staff members for a 6:1 camper to staff ratio.
Is before-care offered this year?
No–we have expanded the drop-off window from 8:45—9am and have eliminated before care to streamline staffing and drop-off. However, we are offering after-care from 3-5pm for our campers in Sessions 1 and 2.

Am I finished with registration after paying on Eventbrite?
Not quite! All registrants must fill out the Camper Information and Waivers Form. Please complete all required forms by May 1, 2023.
What’s the cancellation policy?
If you must cancel your reservation the following applies:
- By May 1, 75% of your registration will be refunded;
- By June 1, 50% of your registration will be refunded;
- After June 1, 25% of your registration will be refunded;
Session 1 and 2 are 2-week sessions. Can I sign up my child for just one week of the session?
At this time, we are only offering 2-week sessions for elementary ages. If you would like to be considered on a waitlist status for a one-week opening, please email us at naturecamp@cylburn.org. We will consider these requests if a session does not fill or with a last-minute cancellation.
How can I add my child to a waitlist?
If a session is sold out, please email naturecamp@cylburn.org with your name, your child’s name, and the session(s) you would like to be added to. If space becomes available, we will contact you directly.
How can I give the experience of Cylburn’s Summer Nature Camp to a grandchild, or other child in my family?
You may register and pay for any child in your immediate family, including using your membership discount. Your child’s place will be held with your payment, and will be confirmed upon receipt of your child’s registration forms. If you are not the parent or guardian of the child you are registering, please notify us by email at naturecamp@cylburn.org, so we can match your payment with your child’s registration forms, and confirm your child’s enrollment in camp.
