From the forest canopy to garden edges\, birds can be found throughout the landscape using their unique adaptations to build nests\, find food\, and survive in their habitats. Join us each Saturday in July for a bird-themed make-and-take activity. \nAll ages are welcome. No fee or registration required (supplies limited). Drop-in anytime between 11am to 12pm. \nJuly 4: Bird-Safe Window Craft\nMillions of birds are injured or killed each year after colliding with windows. Drop by the Nature Education Center to learn why window strikes happen and create a colorful hanging decoration from recycled materials that can help make windows more visible to birds. \nJuly 11: Build Your Own Binoculars\nBirdwatchers use binoculars to get a closer look at birds and other wildlife. Drop by the Nature Education Center to build your own binoculars from recycled materials and learn about some of the birds that can be spotted around Cylburn. \nJuly 18: Recycled Bird Feeder \nBird feeders can help attract birds for observation. Drop by the Nature Education Center to make a simple bird feeder from recycled egg cartons and learn about some of the birds that visit local backyards. \nJuly 25: Bird Superpowers\nBirds have special features called adaptations that help them survive—like strong beaks for eating\, wings for flying\, and feet for perching. Drop by the Nature Education Center to explore bird “superpowers” and design your own bird.
