Join imaging professional Tony Amador in guided photography of some of Cylburn’s natural wonders. Tony will start by discussing good photography technique, sharing his tips and tricks of the trade, as well as showcasing participants images for discussion. Tony’s emphasis is on achieving great visual results that go well beyond the casual snapshot. Participants may be eligible for an end-of-year photos exhibition showcasing and selling selected works. Requirements: Equipment: any photography device (including smartphones), capacity to move around the Cylburn gardens, fields and nature paths.

Johns Hopkins Center For a Liveable Future’s Aquaponics Project is housed next to the Greenhouses at Cylburn. The farm is open to the public on Wednesdays from 10-12pm.

David Thompson, Celebration of Art participant will present an exhibit of his recent work in the Vollmer Center during Mother’s Day weekend. David was chosen for this show by Cylburn’s Chief of Horticulture, Melissa Grim, based on his work displayed in Cylburn’s 2014 Celebration of Art. Get a sneak peak of the show when you attend the Market Day Preview Party on May 8th, visit during Market Day on Saturday the 9th, and celebrate the exhibition with the artist on Sunday the 10th from 2-4pm. Bring your mom to see his beautiful work!

Come and see all that Market Day has to offer before the crowds on Saturday! Market Day presents a full selection of plants from growers and vendors, and great advice from expert gardeners, as well as garden and nature themed crafts and gifts. Take advantage of the relaxed, and festive atmosphere, as well as the opportunity to buy great plants and garden accessories. Music will be provided by the Gilman Jazz Band, a huge hit from last year, and guests can purchase dinner from Upslidedown Dave’s, a food truck offering creative sliders, yum!
