Educational GoalsAs a 207 acre greenspace in Baltimore City, we strive to engage our surrounding community members and encourage them to visit the arboretum. In addition to giving people access to nature and history, we create memorable experiences and teach skills that can be used in their homes and neighborhood.

Pumpkin Carv-o-rama!October 23 6-8 Greenhouse Classroom
Help us decorate for Arbooretum, or make your pumpkin for the carved pumpkin contest! We’ll provide the pumpkin, carving supplies, snacks, beer, and wine-you bring your creative, Halloween spirit! We will also have stencils if you want to focus on the fun instead of planning your design! You can pick up your pumpkin on Saturday, after they’ve been used to set the stage for Ar-Boo-retum on Friday!

Ar-BOO-retum!October 24 5:30-8pm Mansion
Returning for its second year, ArBOOretum is a fun Halloween event for families! Explore a decorated mansion, take a ride on a horse draw carriage, make Halloween crafts, travel along a trick or treat trail keeping an eye out for nocturnal creatures! Wear your costume and participate in a costume parade. Food, beer and wine will be for sale at the event. Enter the Carved Pumpkin contest on the Arbooretum page!
$10 adults, $5 children
Soup N WalkNovember 2 11am-1pm Mansion
Go on a guided walk of the grounds and take in the beauty of the fall colors; look for signs of nature preparing for its winter nap. After the walk, join us for a seated lunch in the historic mansion provided by our local partner Graul’s. Leave with tips on seasonal cooking and a few seasonal recipes from an area chef.

School’s Out!November 4 8am-5pm Mansion
Spend your day off outside on the trails, and exploring nature! Our day will be spent making art projects, playing games, hiking, and working with Cylburn’s Artist in Residence on landscape paintings. Bring your lunch, snacks will be provided!
